1. mercilessness, indifference.
Compassion is the answer.  To all of the questions.  Each and every one of us needs more compassion.  Compassion compels us to do good, to do more, to step it up.  Is compassion contagious?  Can you witness compassion and not feel that “wow” feeling and want to be a part of it?  This video brings that out.
There’s something about a man out enjoying the waves that are graciously provided to him every day, responding to the desperate needs of a creature that is literally drowning because of the careless acts of mankind.  This man frees the turtle and takes his victory wave into shore.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMPASSION SURFER DUDE!  I hope his compassion is rewarded tenfold.  This is what the world needs.  Compassion!
